Appointment Of Deputy Chief Executive Officer
BackJul 30, 2004The Board of Directors of Unified Communications Holdings Limited (the "Company") wishes to announce the appointment of Dr. Yusseri Md. Yusoff as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Company with effect from 30 July 2004.
Dr. Yusseri is tasked to develop new products and solutions based on emerging technologies for the telecommunications and information technology industries. Specifically, Dr. Yusseri will contribute in further developing carrier-grade network infrastructure solutions to enable telecommunications operators and service providers to improve the cost-effectiveness and scalability in their network infrastructure. These solutions will allow the Company to establish a complementary range of products in a market segment that has compelling long term growth prospects.
Dr. Yusseri is currently the Assistant General Manager for ICT at Advance Synergy Berhad ("ASB"), the Company's ultimate holding company, where he oversees the ICT strategies and developments within the ASB Group. He was formerly a director and Chief Technology Officer at DRB-HICOM Information Technologies Sdn. Bhd. where he led the development of products and solutions based on open source software, and strategic consultation for enterprise solutions. Prior to that, he was the Research and Development Manager at Open Source Systems Sdn. Bhd., where he developed and deployed high-performance technical computing platforms for research and educational institutions. Dr. Yusseri's prior experience in developing and deploying solutions based on advanced and emerging technologies will bolster the Company's capabilities in establishing its suite of innovative network infrastructure solutions.
Dr. Yusseri holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from the University of Sheffield, a Master of Science in Telecommunications and Information Systems from the University of Essex, and received a Doctorate of Philosophy for research in digital video databases, compression and streaming transport technologies from the School of Electronics and Physical Sciences, University of Surrey. Dr Yusseri is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
